Youth Worker
Location: Oldham
Working Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:30am-3:30pm
Pay: £16.78 per hour
Start Date: ASAP
We are currently looking for a Youth Worker to join a welcoming school in Oldham, providing dedicated support to pupils throughout the school day.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting children and young people, enjoys building positive relationships, and wants to make a positive difference in a school environment.
The Role
As a Youth Worker, you will:
Support pupils with their personal, social and emotional development.
Build positive and trusting relationships with pupils.
Provide one-to-one or small-group support where required.
Encourage pupils to engage positively with learning and school activities.
Help pupils develop their confidence, independence and social skills.
Support pupils who may require additional emotional or behavioural support.
Work alongside teaching staff to create a positive and engaging environment.
Assist with classroom routines and general school activities.
Follow school policies and safeguarding procedures at all times.
About You
We are looking for someone who is:
Patient, caring and approachable.
Passionate about supporting children and young people.
Confident building positive relationships with pupils.
Able to remain calm and consistent when managing different needs and situations.
Confident working as part of a team.
Reliable, punctual and professional.
Able to communicate effectively with pupils and staff.
Previous experience working with children or young people in a school, youth, education or care setting is desirable but not essential.
