Are you a dedicated and motivated teacher looking to make a positive impact in a thriving educational environment? We are seeking a Cover Teacher to join a successful secondary school in Newport. This exciting opportunity is suitable for recent graduates or confident teaching assistants eager to supervise learners aged 11-18 and develop their professional skills within a supportive school community.

This role offers a fantastic chance to gain classroom experience and contribute to a positive learning environment. The successful candidate will be committed to fostering an inclusive and engaging learning atmosphere, acting as a role model for students, and supporting the school's ethos of high standards and wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities:

Classroom Delivery: Step in confidently to lead pre-set lessons across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5 (ages 11–18), keeping learning on track and students engaged.

Behaviour & Engagement: Proactively promote positive behaviour, maintain high expectations, and cultivate a safe, respectful learning space.

Policy & Safeguarding: Uphold school policies and strict safeguarding protocols to ensure student welfare at all times.

*

Student Support: Assist learners in understanding tasks, encouraging participation and celebrating student achievement.

Desirable Skills & Qualifications:

Specialist Experience: Background or experience working with Special Educational Needs (SEN), Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD), or targeted behaviour management strategies.

Core Skills: Outstanding communication, quick critical thinking, and excellent organizational abilities.
