About the role

We are currently recruiting for a Bus Cleaner to work in Weston-super-Mare on a provisional one-week temporary assignment.

The Bus Cleaner assignment will start tonight, Tuesday 15 September, and run through to Saturday 19 September, with shifts from 6pm to 2am.

The successful Bus Cleaner will be responsible for ensuring buses are cleaned to the required standard and are ready for passengers and service. This is a hands-on role involving regular cleaning duties, working on your feet and working as part of a team.

Candidates must be available to work all five shifts from Tuesday 15 September to Saturday 19 September.

Further work may be available after the initial week depending on client requirements and performance, but this cannot be guaranteed.

Key responsibilities

• Thoroughly clean and sanitise the interior of buses

• Clean seats, floors, windows, handrails, steps and passenger areas

• Remove litter and empty waste bins

• Clean exterior areas of buses where required

• Ensure buses are cleaned and presented to the required standard

• Check vehicles for lost property and follow the correct procedure when items are found

• Work efficiently to ensure buses are cleaned within the required timescales

• Follow relevant cleaning, health and safety procedures

• Report any damage, defects or issues identified while cleaning

• Work as part of a team to meet nightly cleaning deadlines

Skills and experience required

Essential

• Available to work Tuesday 15 September to Saturday 19 September

• Available to work 6pm to 2am

• Reliable, punctual and hardworking

• Good attention to detail

• Positive attitude and willingness to work as part of a team

• Comfortable working on your feet throughout the shift

• Physically able to carry out cleaning duties, including bending, stretching and repetitive tasks

• Able to follow instructions and work independently when required

Desirable

• Previous cleaning experience

• Previous commercial, industrial or transport cleaning experience

• Experience working in a fast-paced environment

• Good understanding of cleanliness and hygiene standards
