Mid-Level Java Engineer
We're looking for a Mid-Level Java Engineer for an initial day-rate contract. You'll join an application development team in financial services and help deliver a major new retail investment programme designed to make long-term investing simpler and more accessible.

Responsibilities

Design and deliver Java components and microservices with Spring Boot, to spec and on schedule
Work closely with developers, analysts and operations teams to build solutions for the programme
Uphold the team's Java standards and best practices, and promote them across the team
Manage programme work through Azure DevOps within an agile delivery framework
Help keep the codebase clean, with good source control practice
Mentor and guide junior engineers in the team
Recommend improvements to code quality, processes and deliveryRequirements

6+ years of commercial Java development experience
Strong hands-on experience with Spring Boot and microservices
Experience working with Azure DevOps or similar tools in an agile environment
A degree in Computer Science, IT, Software Development or a related discipline
Banking or financial services experience preferred
Java certifications or a stockbroking qualification would be a bonus
Excellent communication skills and a methodical, detail-focused approachApplicants must be eligible to work full-time in Ireland without restriction.
