Junior Java Engineer
We're looking for a Junior Java Engineer for an initial day-rate contract. You'll join an established application development team in financial services, helping build and improve the systems behind online trading, client onboarding, regulatory processes and third-party integrations.

Responsibilities

Build Java components and microservices with Spring Boot, to spec and on schedule
Work with the wider Java team on microservices and agent-based development that makes the application stack more efficient
Work with developers, analysts and operations colleagues on strategic wealth and investment projects
Follow the team's Java coding standards and best practices, and help others follow them too
Track your BAU and project work in Azure DevOps within an agile delivery framework
Help keep the codebase clean, following good source control practice
Look for ways to improve processes and put them into practiceRequirements

2+ years of commercial Java development experience
Hands-on experience with Spring Boot and microservices
A degree in Computer Science, IT, Software Development or a related discipline
Exposure to banking or financial services would be an advantage
Java certifications or a stockbroking qualification would be a bonus
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with close attention to detail
Clear written and verbal communication skillsApplicants must be eligible to work full-time in Ireland without restriction.
