We are seeking an experienced Quality Systems Manager to join an established engineering manufacturer on a contract basis. This assignment will focus on reviewing, strengthening and embedding quality systems in preparation for an upcoming audit.
This is a hands-on role requiring someone who can quickly assess the current quality and compliance framework, identify areas for improvement and work collaboratively across Engineering, Production and Quality functions to ensure the business is fully prepared and audit-ready.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and support the business in preparation for an upcoming audit.
Review and enhance the Quality Management System (QMS) to ensure compliance with ATEX requirements.
Conduct detailed gap analysis and develop action plans to address identified risks and non-conformities.
Ensure quality documentation, records and compliance evidence are accurate, complete and audit-ready.
Review manufacturing, assembly, inspection and test processes to ensure robust controls are in place.
Work closely with Engineering, Production and Quality teams to drive compliance and quality improvements.
Manage and support corrective and preventive actions arising from audits, reviews and gap analyses.
Provide practical guidance and training to internal stakeholders on quality systems and ATEX requirements.
Strengthen process controls, traceability and documentation throughout the manufacturing environment.
Support the business throughout the audit preparation process and, where required, during the audit itself.
Make recommendations to improve quality systems, compliance processes and overall operational effectiveness.
We are looking for an experienced Quality professional with:
Previous experience in a Quality Systems Manager, Quality Manager, Senior Quality Engineer or Quality Systems role within an engineering or manufacturing environment.
Strong knowledge and practical experience of ATEX regulations and compliance requirements, ideally in an electro-mechanical or assembly manufacturing environment.
Proven experience supporting ATEX audits, certification activities and audit preparation.
Strong background in Quality Management Systems, auditing, compliance and continuous improvement.
Experience conducting gap analyses and implementing corrective actions through to completion.
A practical and hands-on approach, with the ability to work effectively across Engineering and Production teams.
The confidence to challenge existing processes and drive improvements where required.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
The ability to quickly understand the current situation and deliver value within a contract environment.
This position would suit an experienced Quality Systems Manager, Quality Manager, Quality Consultant or Compliance Specialist who can bring strong quality systems expertise into a manufacturing environment.
