EC&I Project Engineer – Renfrew
We’re recruiting on behalf of a major engineering company with a strong heritage in delivering highly regulated nuclear and energy sector projects across the UK. This long-term opportunity for an EC&I Project Engineer offers the chance to contribute to complex, safety-critical work, supporting project delivery and technical coordination within a collaborative engineering team.
Salary
£40.00–£50.00 per hour
Location and Working Pattern
Based in Renfrew, working four days per week. On-site presence will be required with flexibility to support project delivery as needed.

Responsibilities
Provide EC&I project engineering support across design, installation and commissioning phases
Interpret and review electrical and control system drawings, specifications and documentation
Ensure work complies with nuclear safety, quality and regulatory standards
Liaise with project managers, designers, and subcontractors to maintain technical alignment
Oversee progress against plans, identify issues, and support the coordination of engineering solutions
Participate in safety reviews, technical meetings and progress reporting
Support testing, inspection, and project handover activities
Prepare and review technical reports, calculations and inspection record.
Must-have Requirements
Proven experience as an EC&I Engineer or Project Engineer within a regulated sector (preferably nuclear)
Strong electrical engineering background with knowledge of control and instrumentation systems
Recognised electrical or instrumentation qualification (HNC or Degree level or equivalent)
Understanding of nuclear safety standards and quality processes
Effective communicator with a proactive and methodical approach to problem-solvingNice-to-have Skills
Experience working within multi‑discipline engineering teams on major Nuclear infrastructure or Defence projects
Familiarity with documentation control systems and nuclear quality requirements (e.g. LTRs)
