MEICA Commissioning Engineer
Location: Nantwich, Cheshire
Contract Rate: £450 - £500 per day (LTD / Outside IR35)

Project Overview
We are seeking an experienced MEICA Commissioning Engineer to join a leading infrastructure contractor delivering critical capital upgrades at a major Water Treatment Works (WTW) near Nantwich.
This long-term contract offers excellent stability through the AMP8 cycle. You will take ownership of the full commissioning lifecycle-from pre-commissioning checks through to full wet testing and formal client Takeover-ensuring seamless operational integration across complex mechanical, electrical, and ICA systems.
Key Responsibilities
Commissioning Strategy & Technical Management: Author and manage Project Commissioning Plans, execution schedules, and testing methodologies in line with water authority standards and WIMES regulations.
Testing & Asset Takeover: Plan, execute, and document FAT, SAT, dry testing, and full wet commissioning phases. Drive snag resolution and performance trials to secure smooth operational handover.
Interface Management: Work directly with site delivery teams, design leads, OEM vendors, and client Asset Operations to integrate new plant with live water assets without service disruption.
Health & Safety Leadership: Enforce rigorous MEICA safe systems of work across all active commissioning zones, managing isolation protocols and safe mechanical/electrical working practices.
Requirements & Certifications
Water Sector Experience: Minimum 5 years delivering MEICA/Commissioning packages on UK water or wastewater capital projects (AMP cycle experience essential).
Technical Breadth: Strong working knowledge of pumps, switchgear, MCCs, telemetry, PLCs, chemical dosing, screens, and filtration assets.
Mandatory Tickets: Valid CSCS/ECS Card, EUSR National Water Hygiene Card, SSSTS or SMSTS, BS7671 (18th Edition), and a Full UK Driving Licence.
Desirable: AP/EAP Low Voltage certification, DSEAR/CompEx qualifications, or PROFIBUS commissioning experience.
