Bright Star Talent is recruiting a Maths Teacher to join a secondary school in Ladywood, Birmingham.
We are looking for a qualified teacher with experience teaching Mathematics across KS3 and KS4, including supporting pupils with GCSE exam preparation. You will be able to explain concepts clearly, identify gaps in understanding and help pupils become more confident, independent learners.
This role would suit a teacher who enjoys working with pupils of different abilities and understands how to make Maths accessible while providing challenge for those ready to progress further.
About the role
You will plan and deliver lessons that develop pupils’ mathematical fluency, reasoning and problem solving skills. Alongside preparing pupils for examinations, you will help them understand the steps behind their answers and apply their knowledge to unfamiliar questions.
Your responsibilities will include:

Planning and delivering well structured Maths lessons across KS3 and KS4.

Teaching topics including number, algebra, geometry, statistics and probability.
*
Developing pupils’ confidence in calculations, mathematical reasoning and problem solving.
*
Supporting GCSE preparation through revision, exam practice and targeted interventions.
*
Using questioning and assessment to identify misconceptions and adapt teaching.
*
Providing clear feedback that helps pupils understand their next steps.
*
Differentiating tasks and resources for pupils with varying abilities, including those with SEND.
*
Maintaining consistent classroom routines and following the school’s behaviour policy.
*
Tracking progress and sharing relevant information with colleagues.
*
Working with the Maths department and support staff to meet pupils’ learning needs.
We are looking for:

QTS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
*
Experience teaching Maths in a secondary school.
*
Strong knowledge of the KS3 and GCSE Maths curriculum.
*
The ability to break down complex concepts into clear, manageable steps.
*
Confident classroom management and high expectations for learning and behaviour.
*
An organised approach to planning, marking and assessment.
*
A commitment to inclusive teaching and supporting pupils of all abilities.
*
Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively with colleagues.
