Are you confident, organised and passionate about supporting young people in education?

We are looking for a Cover Supervisor to join a welcoming secondary school in Barnoldswick. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with previous experience working with young people who is looking to develop their experience within a secondary school environment.

The Role

As a Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for supervising classes during the short-term absence of the usual class teacher. Work will be pre-planned and provided by the school, allowing you to focus on maintaining a positive and productive learning environment.

Your responsibilities will include:

Supervising classes across a range of secondary subjects
Delivering pre-prepared work and instructions to pupils
Managing classroom behaviour effectively
Ensuring pupils remain engaged and on task
Providing support and guidance where appropriate
Following the school's behaviour and safeguarding policies
Reporting back to teaching staff regarding pupil progress and behaviour
Supporting the wider school team when required

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who is:

Confident managing groups of secondary-aged pupils
Able to establish clear expectations and boundaries
Calm, resilient and approachable
An effective communicator
Organised and able to adapt to different subjects and year groups
Passionate about supporting young people's education
Previous experience within a secondary school or working with young people would be highly beneficial. This role could also be ideal for graduates considering a future career in teaching and looking to gain valuable classroom experience.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
