Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)
Location: Lambeth, London
Salary: £110 - £130 per day, depending on qualifications and experience.
Contract: Full-time, long-term temporary
Start date: 19/10/2026
Hours: Term time, 8:30am–3:30pm, Monday to Friday.
Lead a lesson, support a breakthrough and help learning continue smoothly. Transparency Education is recruiting two HLTAs for primary opportunities in Lambeth.
You will work across planned classroom cover and focused pupil support, bringing confidence and consistency to both. We are looking for experienced practitioners who can follow teaching plans while responding thoughtfully to what pupils need in the moment.
Responsibilities
• Take responsibility for planned whole-class activities within the role’s agreed scope
• Run small-group interventions and review learning outcomes
• Prepare and adapt materials with guidance from teachers
• Support inclusive behaviour and effective classroom routines
• Liaise with teachers about progress, misconceptions and further support
Requirements
• HLTA status or equivalent evidence of higher-level support experience
• Confidence leading learning in primary classrooms
• Strong literacy, numeracy and communication
• The ability to organise tasks and respond flexibly to pupils’ needs
• An enhanced DBS check appropriate to the role, or willingness to complete one.
