Based:                              West Yorkshire – Hybrid working (3 days in the office and 2 days at home)

Rate:                                 £17 – 18 ph (dependent on experience)

Start Date:                      ASAP – August/ September 2026

Duration:                        3-6 months (strong possibility of an extension/ permanent opportunity)

Hours:                              35 hours

Our client, a respected national charity, is seeking a motivated and dynamic Triage Worker to join their West Yorkshire Domestic Abuse Service.

This is a unique opportunity to become part of a specialist service providing a range of interventions to victim/survivors, perpetrators, and children and young people affected by domestic abuse and the role offers excellent development opportunities.

About the Role

As a Triage Worker, you will be responsible for overseeing all referrals to the service and in many instances acting as the victim’s first point of contact/ first person they have disclosed the abuse you – this is such an important role as it can set the tone for how the client engages and their support.

You will be supporting the effective delivery of specialist interventions and helping ensure that individuals accessing the service receive appropriate and timely support. You will be responsible for making referrals, signposting and following up on actions with both internal services and external partners.

The service is delivered as a partnership and provides a collaborative approach to supporting those affected by domestic abuse.

Key responsibilities include:

Supporting the effective delivery of the West Yorkshire Domestic Abuse Service
Providing triage and administrative support to the service – this will include over seeing all referrals (email and over the phone)
Carrying out initial risk and needs assessments, providing crisis support and interventions, identifying services (internal and external) and making appropriate referrals
Supporting the team in delivering interventions to victim/survivors, perpetrators, and children and young people
Working collaboratively with colleagues and partner organisations
Maintaining accurate and appropriate records and documentation
Supporting the smooth and effective day-to-day running of the serviceWhat they are looking for:

Experience of working in an administrative or support role
Experience/ Knowledge of working with vulnerable clients (ideally domestic abuse, family support etc) and/ or have worked within supported housing/ social care settings
Understanding and knowledge of safeguarding and risk management
Strong organisational and administrative skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary and partnership team
A professional and compassionate approach when working with individuals affected by domestic abuse
Experience within the health and social care sector would be advantageousBenefits of working with our client:
