We are currently looking for a dedicated and confident Cover Supervisor to join a specialist SEN setting in Bristol, supporting pupils with a range of additional learning needs. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with previous experience working with children or young people who is looking to develop their experience within a specialist environment.

The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising classes in the absence of the regular teacher, following pre-prepared lesson plans and ensuring pupils remain engaged and supported throughout the school day. You will also play an important role in maintaining a positive and structured classroom environment.

The role would suit someone who is confident working with pupils with Autism, SEMH, ADHD, behavioural needs and other additional learning needs, and who can build positive relationships while maintaining clear boundaries.

Key responsibilities:

Supervise classes and deliver pre-prepared work in the absence of the class teacher.
Support pupils with a range of SEN and additional learning needs.
Maintain a calm, safe and structured classroom environment.
Encourage positive behaviour and engagement with learning.
Build positive relationships with pupils and provide appropriate support.
Work alongside Teaching Assistants and wider school staff.
Adapt your approach to meet individual pupil needs where required.
Provide feedback to teaching staff on pupil engagement and behaviour.The ideal candidate will have:

Previous experience working with children or young people.
Experience supporting pupils with SEN is highly desirable.
Strong communication and behaviour-management skills.
A genuine interest in supporting pupils with additional needs and helping them progress.ind- sen
