Refuse Collection Worker

Refuse Collector – Huddersfield

Location: Huddersfield – HD1.

Salary: £13.26 per hour.

Full Time – Monday to Thursday – 7am to 5pm.

Contract: Up to November 2026 – possibly beyond.

We are looking for reliable and hardworking Waste Collection Operatives to join Kirklees Environmental Services team. In this role, you will be responsible for collecting household and commercial waste, recycling, garden waste, clinical waste and bulky items, helping to keep Kirklees clean and providing an essential service to local communities. Working as part of a team, you will safely load and handle waste, operate lifting equipment where required, and follow all health and safety procedures to ensure collections are completed efficiently.

This is a physically active, customer-facing role where you will work outdoors in all weather conditions. You will interact professionally with members of the public, report collection issues using in-cab technology, and support the delivery of a high-quality waste service. You may also assist with duties such as delivering new bins, clearing snow and ice, gritting, street cleaning, and supporting other environmental clean-up projects when required. Full training and ongoing support will be provided.
