Are you a passionate and creative Teacher of Food Technology looking for your next teaching opportunity in Cardiff?

Teaching Personnel is currently working in partnership with a mainstream secondary school in Cardiff that is seeking an enthusiastic and committed Food Technology Teacher to join its Design and Technology department on a full-time basis, starting ASAP.

This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified Food Technology Teacher, Food Preparation and Nutrition Teacher, Design and Technology Teacher or Secondary Teacher looking to secure a rewarding role within a supportive Cardiff secondary school.

The Role

As the successful Teacher of Food Technology, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and practical Food Technology lessons across the secondary age range. You will plan and deliver high-quality lessons in line with the Curriculum for Wales, helping pupils develop their practical cooking skills, knowledge of nutrition, food preparation and healthy eating.

Your responsibilities will include:

Planning and delivering engaging Food Technology and Food Preparation and Nutrition lessons
Teaching pupils across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4
Preparing practical lessons and ensuring a safe and effective learning environment
Assessing, monitoring and tracking pupil progress
Differentiating lessons to support pupils of varying abilities
Managing classroom behaviour in line with the school's policies
Preparing pupils for relevant qualifications and assessments, including WJEC specifications where required
Working collaboratively with the wider Design and Technology department
Contributing positively to the wider school community

The Ideal Candidate

To be considered for this Food Technology Teacher job in Cardiff, applicants should ideally have:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognised teaching qualification
Registration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC), or eligibility to obtain registration
Experience teaching Food Technology, Food Preparation and Nutrition or Design and Technology within a secondary school
Strong subject knowledge and a passion for practical learning
Knowledge of the Curriculum for Wales
Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills
The ability to build positive relationships with pupils and colleagues
A commitment to raising attainment and supporting pupil development
