Tradewind Recruitment is proudly working with this wonderful community special school to support them in finding a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join their vibrant team on an immediate, as-soon-as-possible basis, supporting pupils across broader age groups.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

Pupil Support: Assist students with diverse special educational needs (SEND), including communication and interaction needs, across daily classroom activities.

Learning Environment: Help maintain a safe, happy, and well-regulated environment built on strong relationships and tailored individual approaches.

Communication & Engagement: Support alternative and functional communication strategies to help pupils navigate their school day effectively.

Progress Tracking: Monitor and record student engagement and developmental milestones to assist teachers and multidisciplinary specialists.

Collaborative Teamwork: Work closely with teaching staff, therapists, and families to empower pupils with key life skills.

Person Specification

Experience: Previous background supporting children or young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

Attributes: High emotional resilience, empathy, patience, and a calm, flexible approach.

Compliance: Must hold a valid Enhanced DBS check (or be willing to process one immediately) and be available to start straight away.
