The Role

We are currently seeking an experienced and reliable Premises Manager to join a busy and welcoming school in Bermondsey. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on facilities professional looking for a long-term role within an educational environment.Working on a split-shift basis, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management, maintenance, security, and operational running of the school site, ensuring that the premises remain safe, secure, and well-maintained at all times.

Key Responsibilities

Opening and securing the school site each day.
Carrying out routine site inspections and basic maintenance tasks.
Coordinating repairs and liaising with external contractors.
Managing health and safety compliance across the premises.
Conducting regular safety checks and risk assessments.
Ensuring the school grounds, buildings, and facilities are clean, safe, and operational.
Supporting with emergency repairs and site-related issues.
Monitoring site security, alarms, and access control systems.
Assisting with room setups and site requirements for school events and activities.
Maintaining accurate records relating to maintenance and compliance.Requirements

Previous experience working as a Premises Manager, Site Manager, Facilities Manager, Caretaker, or similar role, ideally within a school or educational setting.
Good understanding of health and safety regulations and building maintenance.
Practical maintenance and DIY skills.
Strong organisational and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and manage priorities effectively.
A proactive and flexible approach to work.Essential Requirements

Enhanced DBS certificate (or willingness to obtain one).
Previous experience in a similar premises or facilities management role.
Right to work in the UK.
