Setting Out Engineer – Potters Bar

Job Description
Norse Contracts are looking for experienced Setting Out Engineers to join us on a year-long project, working Saturdays, at our site in Potters Bar. We welcome applications from local operatives and those travelling from further afield.
Duties will include:
* Setting out works accurately using GPS/Total Station equipment in line with design drawings
* Checking and interpreting engineering drawings, specifications and construction methodology
* Establishing and maintaining site grids, levels and benchmarks
* Liaising with the site management team, subcontractors and design team to resolve queries
* Carrying out as-built surveys and recording data for record purposes
* Monitoring and checking the accuracy of works carried out by other trades
* Producing and maintaining accurate setting out records and calculations
* Ensuring all setting out work complies with tolerances, specifications and site standards
* Identifying and reporting any discrepancies between drawings and site conditions
* Supporting the wider site team with technical queries and problem-solving
Requirements:
* CSCS card (essential)
* Relevant qualification in Civil Engineering or Construction (HNC/HND/Degree desirable)
* Proven experience using Total Station/GPS setting out equipment
* Strong understanding of technical drawings and specifications
* Good communication skills and attention to detail
* Willingness to travel to Potters Bar
