The role
As a Waste Porter, you will help ensure waste and hospital logistics are moved safely and efficiently around the hospital site.
Your duties will include:
Safely moving hospital stores and waste using electric vehicles
Receiving, sorting, storing and preparing waste for collection
Driving electric vehicles around designated areas while following Health & Safety procedures
Carrying out pre-shift checks and reporting any vehicle faults
Reporting Health & Safety hazards to the Team Leader
Maintaining high standards of personal hygiene and infection control
Completing relevant records and paperwork accurately
Following Health & Safety, quality and hospital policies and procedures
What we’re looking for
Previous experience in a similar role is preferred
Good communication skills
Good customer care skills
Reliable, flexible and adaptable
Able to follow procedures and Health & Safety requirements
A positive attitude and willingness to work as part of a team
