About this contract

Senior PMO Manager (Retail)
Location: Manchester (3 days on-site per week)

Duration: 3 months initial plus extenisons for long term programme

UMBRELLA ONLY

A business-critical opportunity to help an enterprise resilience programme move from mobilisation into controlled delivery-strengthening governance, transparency, and decision-ready reporting across multiple workstreams. Hiring for a reputed client, this role focuses on closing out identified risks and embedding disciplined controls for lasting resilience.

What you'll be doing:
* Establish and operate a programme controls framework for a large-scale Enterprise Resilience Programme
* Set up programme governance structures and a clear operating cadence, including Steering Committees and executive review forums
* Build and maintain an integrated programme plan, including re-baselining schedules and tracking milestones and critical path
* Create delivery workstreams (including dependencies and "swimlanes") and drive alignment across business, technology and supplier teams
* Lead RAID management (Risk, Assumption, Issue and Dependency): facilitate reviews, drive escalations, and ensure actions are completed
* Produce concise, executive-ready reporting packs for senior audiences, with dashboards, KPIs and evidence-led updates
* Support budgeting, forecasting and financial tracking, including resource demand vs capacity and utilisation across PMO/BA/delivery resources
* Implement assurance and controls-maintaining audit-ready documentation and coordinating stage-gate and delivery assurance checks
* Manage senior stakeholder relationships and provide confident challenge/independent oversight where required

What you'll bring:
* Significant PMO experience across large-scale transformation programmes, including establishing PMO controls from mobilisation through delivery
* Strong governance and portfolio/management disciplines, with a proven track record of managing cross-functional interdependencies
* Experience producing executive-level reporting for CIO/ExCo/Board audiences, focused on exposure, evidence and decision needs
* Demonstrable ability to lead RAID processes and drive issue resolution to accountable owners and completion
* Excellent facilitation, communication and influencing skills-especially in environments with complex personalities and strong stakeholder groups

If you're ready to bring structure, clarity and control to enterprise resilience delivery, we'd love to hear from you. Apply now for immediate consideration.
