Core Subjects Tutor - Havant

Support Learners Across English, Maths & Science

We're looking for a Core Subjects Tutor to provide personalised 1:1 tuition to children and young people in Havant and the surrounding Hampshire area.

Working on behalf of Local Authorities, you'll support learners who require alternative educational provision, helping them make progress in English, Maths, and Science while building confidence and developing a positive relationship with learning. Many students have experienced disruption to their education and benefit from a tailored approach that focuses on their individual needs and goals.

This is a flexible and rewarding opportunity for education professionals who are passionate about helping young people achieve their potential.

Subjects: English, Maths & Science

Hours: Flexible
Pay Rate: £25-£30 per hour
Type: 1:1 Tuition

Requirements

Minimum 6 months' experience in an educational setting, including tutoring, teaching, teaching assistant, mentoring, learning support, or similar roles
Strong knowledge of one or more core subjects: English, Maths, or Science
Ability to deliver engaging and personalised learning sessions
Experience supporting learners with SEND, EHCPs, or additional needs is desirable
Strong communication and relationship-building skills
Patient, adaptable, and supportive approach
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one
Driver preferred; alternatively, willingness to travel locally within the Havant area

Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
ADHD
Anxiety and school avoidance
EHCPs and additional educational needsEvery learner is different, requiring a flexible and student-centred approach to help them engage with learning and achieve positive outcomes.
