TeacherActive is proud to be working with a specialist school provision based in Barry, CF63, supporting pupils aged 8 to 16 with behavioural difficulties and Additional Learning Needs (ALN). The school provides a supportive and engaging learning environment, with a strong focus on practical learning, developing independence and equipping young people with essential life skills.
The school is looking to take on a proactive SEN Teaching Assistant on a full-time, temporary basis with an immediate start. The successful SEN Teaching Assistant will support pupils across the provision, encouraging positive behaviour, delivering engaging practical activities and helping young people develop their confidence, social skills and independence.
The successful SEN Teaching Assistant will have:
A relevant Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable but not essential
Experience working with children or young people is desirable, although entry-level candidates are encouraged to apply
An interest in supporting pupils with behavioural difficulties and Additional Learning Needs (ALN)
The ability to engage pupils through practical learning and life skills activities
A proactive approach with confidence in managing challenging situations
An outgoing, enthusiastic and resilient personality with strong communication skills
