About this job

Hours: Full-time or flexible part-time (8:30 AM – 4:00 PM)
Contract: Temporary / Flexible day-to-day and long-term options

Are you looking for a flexible role in education that offers great pay without the pressure of planning and marking? A highly regarded secondary school in Richmond is seeking adaptable and enthusiastic Cover Supervisors for a November start.

This position is perfect for graduates aiming to gain classroom experience, experienced supply staff, or anyone looking for rewarding, flexible work that fits around other commitments.

Core Responsibilities

* Classroom Management: Lead classes of students aged 11–16, ensuring they remain focused, safe, and on-task in the teacher's absence.

* Deliver Pre-Set Work: Ensure students understand and complete the work left for them by the regular subject teacher (no planning or marking required!).

* Support and Guide: Answer general questions from students and offer guidance to help them succeed during the lesson.

* Follow School Policies: Maintain high behavior standards in line with the school's reward and sanction systems.

Candidate Requirements

* Ideal Candidate Profiles: This role is perfect for recent graduates looking for paid classroom experience before applying for teacher training (PGCE), or experienced sports coaches, tutors, and youth workers who excel at engaging teenagers.

* Qualifications: A university degree (in any subject) is highly desirable. No teaching qualifications (like QTS) are needed, as all lesson content is pre-planned.

* Skills & Personality: You must be confident, proactive, and resilient, with a strong classroom presence and excellent communication skills.

* Core Skills: Good literacy and numeracy skills (GCSE Grade C/4 or equivalent in English and Maths) to assist students with their tasks.

What We Offer

* Excellent Daily Pay: Earn £110 to £130 per day, paid weekly.

* True Flexibility: Work the days that suit you—choose between full-time hours or flexible part-time days.

* Stunning Location: Work in a welcoming, modern secondary school easily accessible by public transport in Richmond.

* No Extra Baggage: Enjoy the best parts of teaching—working with students—without any evening planning or weekend marking
