Site Engineer – Civil Engineering
Location: Kilmarnock
Contract: Temporary, ASAP start through to March
Rate: £35 per hour
Payment: CIS or Limited Company
Working Hours: Monday to Thursday, 7am–7pm; Friday, 7am–5pm. Winter hours may change to 7am–6pm.
We are looking for an experienced Site Engineer to join a civil engineering project in Kilmarnock, supporting the delivery of a full civils package on a Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) development.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Site Engineer with a strong civil engineering background who is available to start immediately and is confident working on a range of groundworks and concrete activities.
The Role
You will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day delivery of civil engineering works, ensuring activities are completed safely, accurately and to the required quality standards.
Key responsibilities will include:
Setting out and surveying works in line with project drawings and specifications.
Supporting the delivery of drainage installations and associated groundworks.
Overseeing precast concrete installations and in-situ concrete plinths.
Setting out and checking holding-down bolts to ensure accurate positioning.
Monitoring earthworks and ensuring work is completed to specification.
Coordinating with site management, subcontractors and the wider project team.
Maintaining accurate site records and reporting progress.
Ensuring health and safety procedures and quality standards are followed throughout the works.
Requirements
Previous experience working as a Site Engineer on civil engineering projects.
Strong setting-out skills and the ability to interpret engineering drawings.
Experience with drainage, earthworks and concrete works.
Good communication and organisational skills.
A proactive approach to problem-solving and site delivery.
Relevant engineering qualifications and a valid CSCS card.
