Buyer - Manufacturing | Maternity Cover
Location: Bournemouth
Pay: £17.00 per hour PAYE
Contract: Temporary - maternity cover, initially until March 2027
TeamJobs are recruiting for an experienced Buyer to join a manufacturing procurement team in Bournemouth.
You'll play a key role in keeping production running smoothly, ensuring components arrive on time, building supplier relationships and resolving purchasing queries.
What you'll be doing:
Raising purchase orders from daily requisitions.
Managing outstanding supplier orders, chasing deliveries and ensuring components arrive when required.
Building strong supplier relationships and identifying opportunities to reduce costs.
Resolving shortages by sourcing alternative suppliers or working with engineering on suitable solutions.
Processing returns for rejected goods and resolving delivery discrepancies.
Working with internal teams to resolve invoice and payment queries.
Supporting the wider procurement team with day-to-day purchasing requirements.
Identifying ways to improve purchasing processes.What we're looking for:
Previous buying or purchasing experience.
Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise a busy workload.
Confident communication and negotiation skills.
Good commercial awareness and an understanding of purchasing principles.
Strong attention to detail and confidence working with numbers.
Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills.
A proactive, flexible approach and the ability to work well within an established team.Two years' procurement experience, a background in manufacturing and knowledge of SAP or Sage would be advantageous.
