TeacherActive is proud to be working with a secondary school in Telford that has a dedicated SEND provision supporting pupils with SEMH needs, ASD and challenging behaviours. The school provides a supportive and inclusive learning environment, focusing on structured routines, personalised learning and helping pupils develop their confidence, independence and academic abilities.
The school is looking to appoint a dedicated Teaching Assistant on a long-term basis, with the potential to secure a permanent position for the right Teaching Assistant. The successful applicant will be supporting secondary-aged pupils within the school's SEND provision, providing one-to-one and small group support, assisting with classroom activities and implementing effective behaviour management strategies to meet pupils' individual learning and emotional needs.
The successful Teaching Assistant will have:
A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable)
An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply for one
Experience supporting secondary-aged pupils with SEMH needs, ASD and challenging behaviours
A strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures
Experience providing one-to-one support and working with small groups of pupils
A calm, patient and caring approach with strong communication and behaviour management skills
