SEN Teacher
TeacherActive are proud to be working with a specialist SEN provision in Maidstone, supporting pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. We are looking for a dedicated, caring and experienced SEN Teacher with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) to join the team from January.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate teacher who thrives in a supportive environment and is confident managing challenging behaviour while creating a safe, positive and engaging learning experience for all pupils.
The successful SEN Teacher will have:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential.
Previous experience supporting pupils with SEMH needs.
Strong classroom leadership and behaviour management skills.
Experience planning, preparing and delivering engaging lessons tailored to individual learning needs.
Confidence managing challenging behaviour using positive, consistent strategies.
A kind, caring and patient approach, with a genuine passion for supporting young people.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the classroom, ensuring a safe, structured and inclusive learning environment.
Plan and deliver differentiated lessons to meet pupils' individual needs.
Support pupils with SEMH needs, promoting emotional regulation, confidence and positive behaviour.
Implement effective behaviour management and de-escalation strategies.
Monitor pupil progress and adapt teaching approaches accordingly.
Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, support staff and school leadership.
