About this job

Experienced IDVA / Domestic Abuse Practitioner

Location: South Leicester
Hours: Full-time, Monday-Friday, 8:30am-4:30pm
Contract: Temporary - 8 weeks
Start: 2nd November 2026
Working Pattern: Site and community based

Supporting Futures are recruiting an experienced IDVA or Domestic Abuse Practitioner to join an exciting new multi-agency pilot within South Leicester.

This is a little different from a traditional IDVA role. Rather than managing a standard high-risk caseload, you will bring your domestic abuse expertise into a new "test and learn" approach, working closely alongside statutory partners responding to families in crisis.

You will provide specialist DA insight, complete/update risk assessments and reports, liaise directly with families and advocate for them within urgent strategy meetings and wider safeguarding discussions.

As this is a pilot, you'll also play an important part in shaping what comes next - identifying what works well, what could work differently and helping inform the future development of the model.

We're looking for someone who can:

Bring strong domestic abuse, safeguarding and risk assessment experience
Confidently contribute to child safeguarding and multi-agency processes
Advocate effectively for adults and families affected by domestic abuse
Work independently and respond confidently within a fast-moving environment
Communicate confidently with statutory professionals and appropriately challenge professional decisions where needed
Produce clear, accurate reports and case records
Reflect on practice and contribute constructive feedback about how the pilot/model could develop

Previous IDVA experience would be highly desirable, but the client is open to experienced domestic abuse professionals who can demonstrate the right level of safeguarding, risk management and multi-agency experience.

An IDVA qualification is therefore advantageous rather than essential for an exceptional candidate.

The role will primarily be based within one South Leicester location, with induction taking place across Leicester and Leicestershire. The pilot is predominantly site/community based rather than home based.

A driving licence is not essential for the initial 8-week project.

There is potential for further opportunities beyond the initial project should future funding and service developments progress, although this cannot be guaranteed at this stage.

If you have strong domestic abuse experience and would enjoy using your expertise within a new multi-agency approach, we'd really like to hear from you.

Please apply with your CV or contact Lisa at Supporting Futures for a confidential conversation.
