1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant - Mainstream Primary | Full-time | Term-time

Are you an experienced Teaching Assistant who thrives on building strong relationships with pupils?

A welcoming mainstream primary school in Kensington & Chelsea is looking for a dedicated 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to provide targeted support for a pupil with additional needs.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working closely with one child while also helping them remain fully included within the wider classroom.

The role

You will:

Provide dedicated 1:1 classroom support.

Help the pupil access the mainstream curriculum.

Break tasks into manageable steps.

Support communication and social interaction.

Encourage independence rather than creating dependency.

Implement strategies agreed with the class teacher and SENCO.

Support emotional regulation.

Monitor and record progress.

Help the pupil participate in wider school activities.

About the school

The Kensington & Chelsea primary sector is incredibly diverse, with schools across areas such as Kensington, Chelsea, Notting Hill, Ladbroke Grove and North Kensington. The borough includes a mixture of community, Church, academy and free-school provision.

The successful candidate will therefore need to be comfortable working in a busy mainstream classroom while providing highly individualised support.

Speech and language needs

Social communication difficulties

SEMH

Learning difficulties

EHCP support

You may currently be working as an SEN TA, LSA, 1:1 TA, Behaviour Mentor, Youth Worker or Support Worker.
