ECT SEND / PPA Teacher – Hodge Hill, Birmingham (B34)

Pay: £150–£200 per day, depending on experience

TeacherActive is working with a specialist primary SEND school in Hodge Hill that is looking for a full-time qualified teacher to support across the school.
This is an excellent opportunity for an ECT who is keen to gain experience within SEND. You will work across different classes, covering PPA time, teacher absence and planned cover, while also supporting with planning, assessments and general classroom paperwork.
You will be joining an experienced and supportive team, making this a great environment for someone at the beginning of their teaching career.
The successful teacher will:
✅ Hold QTS – essential
✅ Be an ECT, NQT or experienced Primary Teacher
✅ Be confident covering different classes and year groups
✅ Be organised and comfortable completing planning, assessment and paperwork
✅ Have a positive and adaptable approach to working with pupils with SEND
✅ Be confident managing behaviour and following individual support plans
✅ Be reliable, enthusiastic and willing to learn
Key responsibilities include:
• Providing PPA cover across the school
• Covering classes when teachers are absent
• Delivering planned lessons and adapting activities where required
• Completing assessments, observations and classroom paperwork
• Supporting pupils with a range of additional needs
• Working closely with teachers, teaching assistants and senior leaders
