Central London | Residential New Build | RC Frame | Freelance
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Freelance Quantity Surveyor to join a leading main contractor on a major RC frame residential new-build project in Central London.
This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially strong QS with main contractor experience and a background in residential new build, reinforced concrete frame and/or major structural packages.
The Role:
Working as part of the project commercial team, you will take responsibility for the commercial management of key packages across the project, working closely with the Project Manager, Commercial Manager and wider delivery team.
Key responsibilities include:

Managing subcontractor packages from procurement through to final account
*
Subcontract procurement, tender analysis and negotiation
*
Cost reporting, forecasting and monthly valuations
*
Managing variations, compensation events and commercial risk
*
Reviewing and agreeing subcontractor applications and payments
*
Monitoring project costs against budget
*
Preparing and managing subcontractor accounts
*
Supporting commercial reporting and project financial reviews
*
Working closely with site and design teams to identify and mitigate commercial risks
*
Maintaining strong commercial relationships with subcontractors and the client team
About You:
We are looking for a Quantity Surveyor with strong main contractor experience, ideally with:

Experience working on large-scale residential new-build projects
*
Strong understanding of RC frame construction
*
Experience managing significant subcontractor packages
*
Proven procurement and subcontract management experience
*
Strong understanding of valuations, variations and final accounts
*
Excellent commercial and negotiation skills
*
Experience working on projects in excess of £50m
*
Strong communication skills and the ability to operate effectively within a project team
