Bright Star Talent is recruiting a Design and Technology Teacher with a strong engineering background to join a secondary school in Thornton, L23.
This role focuses on engineering and technical design, with no textiles or woodwork teaching. We are looking for someone who can bring the subject to life through practical learning, real world applications and creative problem solving.
The role:

Deliver engaging lessons focused on engineering and technical design.

Develop pupils’ understanding of engineering principles, materials and design processes.
*
Help pupils build practical skills, develop ideas and evaluate their work.
*
Assess progress and adapt lessons to support different learning needs.
*
Maintain a safe, organised learning environment during practical activities.
We are looking for:

A qualified teacher with QTS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
*
Experience teaching engineering or engineering focused Design and Technology.
*
Strong subject knowledge and confident classroom management.
*
A commitment to inclusive teaching and supporting pupils of all abilities.
*
Availability to start ASAP.
You will receive support from a dedicated Bright Star Talent consultant throughout your placement.
