About this job

We are currently hiring Assembly Operatives to join a leading furniture manufacturer. You will be in a busy manufacturing environment and responsible for the manufacture or assembly of components in accordance with drawings or customers’ requirements

Hours: Monday to Thursday 7am-4pm Friday 7am-1pm

Rate: £13.40

Location: Dudley

Key Responsibilities:

* The assembly of furniture and mobility products

* Ensuring all products are manufactured to the required quality, safety and customer specifications.

* Working from job sheets, assembling wooden, upholstered, mechanical and electrical components

* Using a range of hand and power tools

* Carrying out quality checks throughout the production process.

* Work efficiently to meet production targets while maintaining high standards of workmanship, supporting remedial and rework activities as required

* Working collaboratively with colleagues to ensure the smooth flow of production and timely completion of customer orders.

* Any other duties deemed necessary by the Team Leader or Line Manager to support the department or business objectives.

Essential Requirements:

* Previous assembly or manufacturing experience in a production environment.

* Ability to read and follow job sheets, instructions and specifications accurately.

* Experience using hand tools and power tools

* Strong teamwork and communication skills.

* Physically capable of carrying out manual handling and lifting tasks.

Desirable Requirements:

* Experience within furniture manufacturing, upholstery or mobility products.

* Knowledge of mechanical and/or electrical component assembly.

* Understanding of quality control processes and production standards.

* Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement activities.

* Basic fault-finding or troubleshooting skills.
