SEN Teacher - PMLD and Complex Needs

Hours: Full Time, Monday to Friday, Term Time Only
Pay: Up to £240 per day (dependent on experience)

Aspire People is seeking a compassionate and highly skilled SEN Teacher to support pupils with profound and multiple learning disabilities, severe learning difficulties and complex medical or sensory needs within a specialist SEN setting.

This role requires a teacher who understands that progress can take many forms. Success may be demonstrated through communication, interaction, sensory engagement, physical development or increased independence. ECTs are welcome to apply.

You will lead a class of pupils with highly complex needs, delivering a personalised curriculum that focuses on communication, sensory development, life skills and meaningful engagement.

Working alongside a team of experienced Teaching Assistants, therapists and healthcare professionals, you will ensure that every pupil accesses learning opportunities appropriate to their individual needs and abilities.

Key Responsibilities

- Plan and deliver highly personalised learning experiences
- Support pupils with PMLD, severe learning difficulties and complex needs
- Work closely with multidisciplinary teams
- Incorporate sensory learning into daily teaching
- Contribute to learning programmes linked to EHCP outcomes
- Support communication development and engagement
- Lead and direct support staff effectively
- Create a safe, stimulating and inclusive environment

Who We're Looking For

- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Experience teaching pupils with complex SEND
- Understanding of sensory and communication-based learning
- Comfortable working alongside personal care and medical support teams
- Calm, patient and adaptable approach
- Strong commitment to inclusive education
