About this contract

Rate: £825 per day, Inside IR35
Contract length: 12 months, rolling contract
Location: London W1
Working arrangement: Hybrid, with a minimum of three days per week in the London office

A boutique investment bank in London is hiring a hands-on Data Scientist at VP level to build AI and modelling products for its bankers. You will work within a small team, developing solutions that go into production and support live M&A and advisory deals.

M&A experience is essential. You must understand the deal environment and be able to translate bankers’ requirements into practical AI and modelling solutions.

What you will be doing:

*

Building generative AI and machine learning products end to end, from prototype through to production.

*

Applying LLMs and NLP to real M&A and advisory problems.

*

Developing statistical and predictive models, from framing the question through to deployment.

*

Writing production-quality Python, taking ownership of your code and working closely with engineering.

*

Working directly with senior bankers and explaining your models, assumptions and reasoning clearly to non-technical stakeholders.

What we are looking for:

*

Demonstrable M&A experience, alongside a strong understanding of investment banking and advisory workflows.

*

Strong hands-on experience in data science, AI and statistical modelling.

*

Excellent Python skills and experience delivering models and AI products into production.

*

Practical experience with generative AI, LLMs and NLP.

*

The ability to explain your technical choices, evaluate model performance and demonstrate the impact of your work.

*

Experience building platforms or products, with clear ownership of delivery.

*

Confidence working with senior stakeholders in a demanding deal environment.

*

Availability to attend the London W1 office at least three days per week.

Interview process: Includes a live coding exercise, so you will need to be comfortable writing code and explaining your approach during the interview.

To apply, please submit your CV, highlighting your M&A experience and the AI or modelling products you have delivered into production.
