About this contract

Role: Electrical Engineer

Location: Derby, DE24
Contract: 3 Months Contract (with potential to become a permanent position)
Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Key Responsibilities

Oversee and support the delivery of electrical maintenance services across the academy sites.
Ensure electrical works and maintenance activities are completed safely, efficiently and to the required standards.
Carry out and oversee planned and reactive electrical maintenance as required.
Ensure all works comply with relevant legislation, statutory requirements and health & safety procedures.
Apply a strong working knowledge of BS7671 18th Edition electrical regulations.
Monitor the quality and completion of electrical works and ensure issues are identified and resolved promptly.
Support the management and coordination of contractors, colleagues and site activities where required.
Maintain effective communication with colleagues, customers, contractors and other stakeholders.
Provide a professional and customer-focused service at all times.
Respond positively to operational issues and take a proactive approach to problem solving.
Work effectively both independently and as part of a wider team.
Help maintain a safe, compliant and well-managed working environment across the sites.
Demonstrate a proactive "Can Do" attitude and encourage positive participation from team members.

Essential Requirements

18th Edition BS7671 qualification/competency - essential.
Demonstrable experience in an electrical engineering/maintenance environment.
Previous experience in a management, supervisory or team leadership position.
Strong understanding of statutory compliance requirements.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong customer service skills and a professional approach.
Ability to work effectively under pressure.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.

Desirable

Previous experience working within an educational environment, schools or academies.
Experience managing electrical maintenance activities within a facilities management environment.
Experience working with contractors and multiple stakeholders.
