Flexible Secondary School Cover Supervisor / Cover Teacher
Are you an experienced Cover Supervisor or Cover Teacher looking for flexible work across South Manchester? This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in different school environments and wants the flexibility to choose when they work.
The role
You will:
Supervise classes during the short-term absence of the usual teacher
Deliver work that has already been set by the school
Manage classroom behaviour confidently and consistently
Support pupils in remaining focused and engaged
Follow the policies and expectations of each individual school
Adapt to schools with different routines, pupil needs and levels of behaviour management
Pay varies dependent on experience and qualifications
As this is day-to-day cover, you must be available to receive calls in the morning regarding work taking place that same day. Placements may be confirmed at short notice, so flexibility and reliability are essential.
Essential requirements
Applicants must:
Have previous experience working in a secondary school as a Cover Supervisor, Cover Teacher or in a similar classroom-based role
Be confident managing groups of secondary-aged pupils
Have strong and adaptable behaviour management skills
Be willing to work across a variety of secondary schools in South Manchester
Be available to receive early-morning calls for same-day cover
Be reliable, professional and able to adapt quickly to new environments

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
