An established specialist education setting is seeking an experienced SEN Teacher for a provision in High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire, supporting pupils aged 7-19 with complex cognitive, sensory and communication needs.
The provision is organised across four departments, with pupils supported according to their age, development and individual learning requirements. The setting also includes two 6th form classes focused on developing practical skills, independence and preparation for life beyond school.

Responsibilities
As part of the teaching team, you will be expected to:
Plan and deliver differentiated learning activities
Adapt teaching to individual communication and learning needs
Support pupils with complex cognitive and sensory needs
Establish clear routines and expectations
Develop pupils' independence and functional skills
Monitor and assess individual progress
Work closely with teaching assistants and specialist staff
Communicate effectively with families and professionals
Contribute to individual education and support plans
Maintain accurate records of progress and development
Follow safeguarding and care procedures
Support pupils in preparing for their next stage of education, training or adulthood
The Ideal Candidate
This position would suit a qualified teacher who has experience working within specialist education or has a strong interest in developing their SEN teaching experience.
You should have:
Qualified Teacher Status or an appropriate recognised teaching qualification
Experience teaching pupils with additional or complex needs
Strong differentiation skills
Excellent classroom management
The ability to communicate clearly and patiently
An understanding of sensory and communication needs
A commitment to safeguarding
The ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
