The Opportunity
A well-established main contractor is looking to appoint Project and Senior Quantity Surveyors across several projects in Central London.
The business has a strong pipeline of residential refurbishment work, with schemes ranging from £2.5m to £25m, and is looking to strengthen its commercial team as its workload continues to grow.
The positions will initially be freelance, although there is a genuine opportunity for successful candidates to join the business directly on a permanent basis longer term.
Key Responsibilities
- Take commercial responsibility for allocated projects and packages.
- Procurement and management of subcontractors through to final account.
- Prepare valuations, variations, forecasts and cost reports.
- Manage change and ensure accurate commercial reporting.
- Work with Schedule of Rates where applicable.
- Liaise closely with operational teams, clients and other project stakeholders.
- Ensure projects are delivered in line with agreed commercial objectives.
Requirements
- Experience at Project QS or Senior QS level.
- Main contractor background preferred.
- Residential refurbishment experience would be particularly relevant.
- Knowledge of Schedule of Rates.
- Previous exposure to local authority projects would be advantageous.
- Strong subcontractor management and commercial reporting experience.
- Able to manage projects with a good degree of autonomy.
