We are currently working in partnership with a Local Authority in the Surrey, who are looking to appoint a Democratic Services Officer on an initial 6-month locum contract.
This will be a full-time position based in Surrey, with hybrid working and the rate flexible depending upon experience.
Duties will include (but are not limited to):
* Providing professional democratic and committee support to the Council’s committees, panels and other formal meetings
* Planning, coordinating and administering meetings, including preparing agendas, reports, minutes and meeting schedules
* Advising Members and officers on constitutional, procedural and governance requirements to ensure meetings are conducted effectively and in accordance with the Council’s Constitution
* Attending meetings and producing accurate, timely minutes and records of decisions
Working hours:
* 37 hours per week
* Monday – Friday, 9am-5pm
