Position Details
* Job Title: Science Teacher
* Location: Blackburn area, Lancashire
* Start Date: ASAP
* Contract Type: Full-time, ongoing
* Daily Rate: £168.80 – £215.68 per day
About the Science Teacher Role
* Deliver engaging and thought-provoking Science lessons across KS3 and KS4
* Plan and prepare high-quality lessons tailored to a range of abilities
* Teach relevant areas of Biology, Chemistry and Physics, depending on experience and timetable
* Promote curiosity, critical thinking and a strong understanding of scientific concepts
* Support student progress through effective assessment and feedback
* Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment
* Work collaboratively with colleagues within the Science department
* Contribute to wider school activities and departmental development
The Ideal Science Teacher Will
* Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), PGCE or an equivalent teaching qualification
* Have experience teaching Science at secondary level
* Be confident planning and delivering engaging and inclusive lessons
* Demonstrate excellent classroom management and communication skills
* Be committed to supporting the progress and development of all learners
* Be committed to the safeguarding of children and young people
* Provide details of the 2 most recent references, covering the last 5 years' work history
* Possess a current DBS check or be prepared to apply for one as part of registration
* Be willing to complete a face-to-face registration and satisfy the required safeguarding and compliance checks
