Handyman/Woman, Immediate Start, £20.00 per hour DOE, Blantyre

Responsibilities

* Conduct routine inspections of buildings and grounds to identify maintenance needs or safety hazards

* Perform carpentry tasks such as repairing doors, windows, furniture, or framing structures

* Handle plumbing repairs including fixing leaks, unclogging drains, and installing fixtures

* Carry out roofing repairs or maintenance to ensure structural integrity and weatherproofing

* Apply construction painting techniques to refresh walls, ceilings, or exterior surfaces

* Execute masonry work such as bricklaying or concrete repairs for durability and aesthetic appeal

* Use hand tools and power tools safely for fabrication, welding, electrical installations, or general repairs

* Collaborate with team members on larger projects requiring specialized skills or fabrication work

* Maintain detailed records of work performed and materials used to ensure accountability and efficiency

Skills

* Proven experience in carpentry, roofing, construction painting, plumbing, masonry, welding, electrical work or related fields

* Strong knowledge of hand tools and power tools for various repair and fabrication tasks

* Ability to diagnose issues accurately and implement effective solutions quickly

* Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to maintenance challenges

* Good physical stamina and dexterity to perform manual tasks in diverse environments

* Clear understanding of safety protocols related to construction sites and maintenance activities

* Ability to read technical diagrams or blueprints is a plus but not required
