Senior Infrastructure Projects Engineer (Windows, Microsoft 365 & Cloud) – 6 Month Contract – London
VIQU are supporting an organisation in the search for a Senior Infrastructure Projects Engineer to deliver a varied programme of business-critical infrastructure, cloud and security projects.
The successful Senior Infrastructure Projects Engineer will take hands-on ownership of projects across Windows Server, Active Directory, Microsoft 365, virtualisation, disaster recovery, networking and infrastructure security. This is a delivery-focused position suited to an engineer with a track record of completing defined infrastructure projects from initial discovery and planning through to implementation, testing, documentation and operational handover.
Role Responsibilities
Deliver Windows Server rebuild and modernisation projects, including domain controllers, file servers, DFS services and supporting infrastructure.
Design and deploy a new Hyper-V platform and support the migration of workloads from the existing VMware environment.
Enhance Active Directory, Entra ID, Exchange hybrid and wider Microsoft 365 integrations.
Develop, test and document disaster recovery capabilities, including recovery playbooks, remediation actions and operational procedures.
Contribute to SharePoint, OneDrive and Teams migration initiatives alongside Microsoft Purview, data retention and information protection improvements.
Support infrastructure networking and security projects covering firewalls, routing, connectivity, monitoring and SOC integration.
Work with internal stakeholders, MSPs and third-party suppliers to take projects from discovery and design through to implementation and handover.
Key Skills & Experience Required
Proven experience delivering hands-on infrastructure projects within complex enterprise environments.
Strong Windows Server engineering skills, including Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, DFS and server migrations.
Experience working across VMware and/or Hyper-V virtualised environments.
Experience delivering hybrid Microsoft 365 projects involving Entra ID, Exchange, SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams or identity integration.
Demonstrable experience designing, testing and documenting disaster recovery and business continuity solutions.
Good understanding of Azure infrastructure, networking and security principles.
Experience producing HLDs, LLDs, implementation plans, recovery documentation, runbooks and operational handover materials.
Ability to work independently while coordinating effectively with internal teams, MSPs and third-party suppliers.
