General Operative – Injection Moulding

⏰ Shift: Shift work may be required, including days, nights and rotating shifts
We are currently recruiting for a General Operative to join a busy manufacturing environment in Lutterworth.
This is a hands-on production role where you will support the moulding team with operating machinery, handling moulded parts, carrying out secondary operations and ensuring products meet the required quality standards.
The Role
As a General Operative, your responsibilities will include:
* Operating machinery safely and efficiently
* Monitoring machine performance and cycle times
* Carrying out visual quality checks on finished parts
* Trimming excess material and deburring components
* Drilling, tapping and carrying out ultrasonic welding where required
* Assembling and inserting components
* Packing finished products according to instructions
* Following production procedures and works instructions
* Completing production and quality paperwork accurately
* Recording production counts, scrap and cycle times
* Reporting any machine faults or quality issues to the supervisor
* Keeping your workstation and surrounding areas clean, organised and hazard-free
* Following all health & safety procedures and wearing PPE as required
About You
The ideal candidate will have:
* Previous experience within a manufacturing or production environment
* Good attention to detail and a commitment to quality
* Basic maths and literacy skills
* The ability to follow instructions and production procedures
* A reliable and hardworking approach
* The ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
* Experience operating injection moulding machinery would be advantageous, although full training can be provided
Working Environment
This is a hands-on role involving standing for extended periods and manual handling. You must be comfortable working in a busy production environment and be flexible to work days, nights or rotating shifts where required.
