Quality Engineer - Java / Automation / CI/CD
£430 per day

Hybrid/Telford (2 days er week on site)
Candidates are required to go through BPSS clearance or the role.
I'm looking for a Quality Engineer to join a major transformation programme, working within a Scrum environment where quality isn't simply something tested at the end - it's built into the product from day one. This is a genuinely engineering-led QA role, with a strong focus on automation, CI/CD, shift-left testing and helping development teams take ownership of quality across the entire lifecycle.
Responsibilities:
Design and implement test solutions and automation frameworks, often from the ground up
Drive a shift-left Quality Engineering approach across the Scrum team
Build automated testing into the CI/CD lifecycle and shorten feedback loops
Apply TDD/BDD, risk-based testing and modern test design techniques
Work across Unit, System, Functional, Integration and NFR testing
Analyse complex business requirements, processes and technical architectures to shape the testing approach
Work with test data and databases, ensuring appropriate test coverage and data management
Help ensure applications are designed to be testable through automation
Pair with developers and contribute across the wider product stack
Coach and upskill engineers, embedding quality as a whole-team responsibility
Support manual testing where automation isn't appropriate
Produce and maintain high-quality testing collateral
Work closely with technical and business stakeholders throughout the delivery lifecycle
