About this job

The Role

As a Hairpin Manufacturing Operative, you will manufacture and inspect precision copper hairpin components to customer specifications and aerospace quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

Manufacture copper hairpin components using workshop tools and machinery to achieve specified tolerances.
Use pillar drills and associated equipment to remove copper enamel in accordance with customer drawings and specifications.
Read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications and work instructions.
Carry out quality inspections using verniers, Go/No-Go gauges and other measuring equipment.
Bag, label and prepare completed components for dispatch.
Complete all manufacturing activities in accordance with customer requirements and quality standards.
Highlight any production, process or quality issues to the Line Manager and/or Quality Manager.
Maintain excellent housekeeping standards and complete daily 5S activities.
Ensure all work is performed safely, accurately and efficiently.

What We're Looking For

Essential

Experience within a manufacturing, production, assembly or engineering environment.
Ability to read and follow technical drawings and work instructions.
Good attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Experience using measuring equipment such as verniers and gauges.
Good manual dexterity and practical workshop skills.
Reliable, proactive and hardworking attitude.
Ability to work effectively within a team environment.Desirable

Experience working with copper components or metal fabrication.
Aerospace, automotive, defence or precision engineering experience.
Previous machine operating experience.
Knowledge of 5S and lean manufacturing principles.
Experience working to tight tolerances and quality standards.Why Join Us?
