Connect2Hackney are recruiting a Lead Developer on behalf of the London Borough of Hackney. In this technical leadership role, you will take ownership of environment management, deployment pipelines, integration stability, and data security across our NEC ecosystem and core technical platforms.

The Role

As Lead Developer, you will safeguard ecosystem health across all development and production environments. You will drive high standards for release management, quality assurance, integration reliability, and data governance, ensuring seamless delivery and robust system performance.

Key Responsibilities

Environment Management:

Monitor performance, system health, and overall stability across all environments (Dev, Test, Pre-Prod, Training, Prod).
Maintain strict configuration consistency across all environments and NEC modules to eliminate deployment, data, or overriding conflicts.
Lead technical engagement in NEC calls, tracking environment updates, system patches, and development pipeline activities.Deployments & Release:

Coordinate deployment schedules, maintenance windows, and release sign-offs across cross-functional delivery teams.
Define, document, and execute reliable rollback strategies and emergency fix procedures for failed releases.Integrations & Quality Assurance:

Test, troubleshoot, and formally sign off on third-party APIs and custom integrations.
Establish strict quality stage gates and mandatory technical sign-offs throughout the release cycle.Data & Security Governance:

Oversee data migrations, performing rigorous quality assurance and data integrity checks.
Ensure sensitive data protection and masking protocols when cloning Production databases into non-production and training environments.

Requirements

Strong background leading technical environments, release pipelines, and deployment strategy.
Demonstrated experience with environment configuration management and system patching (NEC experience preferred).
Hands-on expertise testing, troubleshooting, and signing off on third-party API integrations.
