Bright Star Talent are currently working with a Good-rated high school in Skelmersdale who are looking for a reliable and enthusiastic Science Technician to join their team.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a school environment and wants to play an important role in supporting the delivery of practical Science lessons across the school.

The successful candidate will work closely with Science teachers, ensuring laboratories are prepared, safe and fully equipped for practical lessons.

The Role

* Preparing and setting up equipment and materials for practical Science lessons.

* Supporting teachers with practical demonstrations and experiments across Biology, Chemistry and Physics.

* Ensuring laboratories are clean, organised and ready for lessons.

* Maintaining and safely storing scientific equipment, chemicals and resources.

* Carrying out routine checks and reporting any damaged or faulty equipment.

* Following all relevant health and safety procedures.

* Preparing resources and materials in line with lesson requirements.

* Supporting teachers and students during practical activities where required.

* Maintaining accurate records of equipment and stock levels.

* Assisting with the smooth running of the Science department.

* Ensuring laboratories provide a safe and positive learning environment.

About You

The school is looking for someone who is organised, dependable and confident working within a Science environment.

You should have:

* Previous experience working as a Science Technician or in a relevant laboratory environment.

* A genuine interest in Science and practical learning.

* Strong organisational and time-management skills.

* Excellent attention to detail.

* A good understanding of laboratory health and safety.

* The ability to work independently and as part of a wider Science department.

* Good communication skills when working with staff and students.

* A positive and professional approach to working in a busy school.

* A commitment to safeguarding and supporting young people.

* An Enhanced DBS check suitable for working in an educational setting.
