The Role

We are seeking an experienced Financial Officer to support a key project at Dorset Innovation Park. This role will focus on reviewing and reconciling historical financial information, analysing income and expenditure from multiple sources, and developing a financial model and dashboard to provide a clear overview of the Park's operational finances.

Working closely with Dorset Council and other stakeholders, you will help rationalise legacy financial data, improve financial visibility, and support accurate reporting across the commercial estate. This is an excellent opportunity for a finance professional who enjoys working with complex financial information and delivering meaningful insights.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and maintain a financial model and dashboard to provide a comprehensive overview of operational finances relating to Dorset Innovation Park.
Review and analyse historical expenditure incurred by Dorset Council, ensuring costs are accurately allocated and recorded.
Investigate and reconcile income and expenditure from a range of third-party sources.
Liaise with Dorset Council colleagues to understand cost codes, budget codes, expenditure, and income associated with the commercial estate.
Collate, interpret, and present complex financial information from multiple sources to support reporting and decision-making.
Review and rationalise legacy financial data to improve accuracy and transparency.
Produce clear management information and financial insights for stakeholders.About You

You will ideally have:

Experience developing financial models, dashboards, and management reports.
Knowledge of service charge accounting within a large commercial estate environment.
Experience interpreting management information provided by property managing agents.
The ability to analyse, reconcile, and present financial information from multiple sources.
Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
Strong Microsoft Excel and financial analysis skills.
Experience working with local authority or council accounting systems would be highly advantageous.
