About the Role
• We are looking for a reliable and experienced HGV Class 2 Driver to join our busy Widnes depot.
• You will be responsible for safely and efficiently collecting and transporting commercial and industrial waste using a modern HGV fleet.
• This is a stable, full-time position offering consistent Monday to Friday shifts, a paid break and the opportunity to increase your earnings through overtime.
Key Responsibilities
• Safely operate HGV Class 2 vehicles for commercial and industrial waste collections
• Collect and transport waste safely and efficiently
• Plan and follow efficient routes to maximise productivity
• Provide excellent customer service at customer sites
• Ensure collection areas are left clean and tidy
• Ensure bins and containers are correctly positioned
• Carry out daily vehicle checks and report any defects promptly
• Comply with waste duty of care requirements
• Follow drivers’ hours, tachograph and road safety regulations
• Maintain high standards of health and safety at all times
• Represent the company professionally when dealing with customers
• Carry out manual handling tasks when required
Requirements
• Valid UK HGV Class 2 (Category C) licence
• Valid Driver CPC
• Valid Digital Tachograph card
• Previous experience within the waste sector is preferred
• Good understanding of waste hierarchy and environmental compliance
• Strong knowledge of local roads and routes around the Widnes area
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Physically fit and comfortable carrying out manual handling tasks
• Reliable, punctual and safety-focused
• Professional approach to work
Pay and Benefits
• £14.47 per hour
• Guaranteed 40-hour working week
• £18.09 per hour overtime rate paid after 40 hours per week

• The ideal candidate will be a safety-focused Class 2 Driver who takes pride in vehicle presentation, customer service and completing collections to a high standard.
• You should be comfortable working independently while also being part of a wider transport team, with a strong commitment to safety, efficiency and environmental standards.
